MBC resolution

On the last day of the budget session on Friday,the Assembly passed a resolution urging the Centre to include 17 Most Backward Castes (MBC) of the state in the list of Scheduled Castes. Minister of Social Welfare Awadesh Prasad presented the resolution that 17 castes qualify for inclusion in the SC list. The 17 castes include Kahar,Kashyap,Kewat,Machua,Mallah,Kewat,Nishad,Kumhar,Prajapati,Dhiver,Bind,Bhar,Rajbhar,Biyar,Batham,Gond and Tairaha. These communities are presently in the OBC list.

10,600 missing kids

In the last three years,10,633 cases related to abduction and missing of children were reported in the state. This was stated by the government in a written reply in the Legislative Council on Friday in response to a question by BJP’s Hridya Narain Dixit. According to the government,only 7,206 cases have been disposed of,while investigation is still on in 3,427 cases.
