Akhilesh suspends Bareilly excise officer

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday suspended District Excise Officer of Bareilly Chandrashekhar for over rating of liquor in his district.

Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Monday suspended District Excise Officer (DEO) of Bareilly Chandrashekhar for over rating of liquor in his district.

The CM had reportedly received complaints from Bareilly district that liquor was being sold at prices higher than the MRP. After preliminary enquiry,it was found that DEO Chandrashekhar was unable to prevent over rating of liquor in his district. “The action has been taken against him due to his callous attitudetowards his duties,” a press release said.

The CM had earlier issued directives that over rating of liquor would not be allowed under any circumstance. Few days ago,he has suspended DEO of Kannauj on similar charges. During his election campaign,Akhilesh had levelled charges against the BSP regime that liquor was sold at prices higher than the MRP and had announced that it would be checked during SP regime.
