Most crucial seat, ensure SP’s historic victory: Akhilesh & Dimple in Karhal

Targeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Akhilesh alleged that “his (CM's) own men are busy planning to take away his chair.”

SAMAJWADI PARTY (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav, the SP MP from Mainpuri, campaigned for the party’s bypoll candidate Tej Pratap Yadav in Karhal Assembly constituency on Friday, with both claiming that Karhal would give a “historic result.”

Both leaders also urged the public to remember that it is only the SP that gave a “true fight” to the BJP during the Lok Sabha polls.

“In UP, 9 byelections will be held but the most important one is in Karhal. This result would give a different message, which would not only be of victory but of forming a government here in 2027. This is an old stronghold of the Samajwadi party. Now, the administration has also understood that the SP is winning here,” Yadav told a gathering in Karhal, a seat he vacated after he was elected as Member of Parliament from Kannauj.

Recalling his father and SP founder, the late Mulayam Singh Yadav, and pointing out that he (Akhilesh) vacated the Karhal Assembly for a “bigger task” – of making SP a national party – Yadav asserted that it was the people’s support for his party that stopped the BJP from getting a majority on its own at the Centre.“This election is taking place because of me as I have left the Assembly and have reached the Lok Sabha. The fact is that such a big and historic victory of the SP has been given by the public. Netaji (Mulayam) would be happy that the public has supported us in such a big way.”

Targeting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Akhilesh alleged that “his (CM’s) own men are busy planning to take away his chair.”

In a reference to the “batenge toh katenge” slogan coined by Adityanath, Akhilesh said while BJP is doing politics of “divide and rule,” SP is uniting everyone under PDA. “We want to form the government by working but they want to remain in power by fooling people. The CM said lot of things when he was here but he could not even take the name of our candidate properly.”

Mainpuri MP Dimple Yadav urged the people of Karhal to ensure the SP’s victory with record margin, like they did when she contested from the seat earlier.
