Agra research scholar’s murder: UP recommends CBI probe

The state government Wednesday recommended a CBI probe into the murder of Agra’s Dayal Bagh Educational Institute research scholar Neha Sharma who was found murdered in the institute’s laboratory on March 15.

Principal Secretary (Home) R M Srivastava confirmed that the government sent the letter recommending a CBI probe on the request of Neha’s father Rashpal Sharma. The Agra police have arrested the institute’s laboratory technician Yashveer Singh Sandhu and final year student of BSc at the same institute Uday Swaroop for allegedly killing Neha following an attempt to rape.
