A day after an enforcement official of the Regional Transport Office (RTO) slapped challan on actor and Member of Parliament Jaya Pradas vehicle for using red beacon,she filed a complaint with Rampur police on Sunday.
She alleged that Additional Regional Transport Officer Kaushalendra Pratap Yadav,who handed her copy of the challan,allegedly misbehaved and also abused her. She requested the police to register complaint against Kaushalendra and 25-30 unidentified police officials who came to her house-cum-camp office located at Civil Lines area in Rampur on Saturday. Superintendent of Police,Rampur,Umesh Singh confirmed receiving the complaint and stated that an inquiry is being ordered into the matter. He added that action would be taken on the basis of the inquiry report.
Meanwhile,Kaushalendra has also moved an application to the police fearing threat to his life. According to the MPs representative Mustafa Hussain,Kaushalendra,along with few unidentified police officials,visited the camp office on Saturday and forcibly tried to give a copy of challan to Jaya Prada while she was interacting with locals and hearing their grievences.
When the MP refused to receive the copy of challan,Kaushalendra caught her hand and forcibly gave the paper to her and also pushed her,he added. The complaint submitted to the police states that before leaving the ARTO also abused and threatened the MP. Mustafa alleged that this was done on the direction of Cabinet Minister Azam Khan who wants to malign the image of Jaya Prada.
He added that few persons who were present at the camp office when the incident took place told that Khans vehicle was seen near the camp office.
Jaya Prada could not be contacted for comment.
Kaushalendra,meanwhile,said: Before issuing challan I met the MP and requested to remove the red beacon. When she did not take action,I removed it and pasted the challan on the vehicle. I did not misbehave with her. To prove this I have video recording of my meeting with the MP.
