The Etah district administration is in a spot after having registered a case under the SC/ST Act against a 16-year-old boy following pressure by a local BSP leader, who allegedly barged into the police station with over a hundred of his armed supporters.

The Etah district administration is in a spot after having registered a case under the SC/ST Act against a 16-year-old boy following pressure by a local BSP leader, who allegedly barged into the police station with over a hundred of his armed supporters.

The district administration has now recommended action for violating the code of conduct against Om Prakash Dalit ,a former district president of the BSP.

Dalit and his supporters allegedly stormed into the City Kotwali police station on Friday night, forcing the circle officer to register a complaint against the boy who had had an altercation with another Dalit boy. The CO (City),Shiv Bahadur Prasad, and the SDM (Sadar) B R Mishra, have sent a report to DM (Etah) Gaurav Dayal, recommending action against Dalit for violating code of conduct. They have also recommended the cancellation of licences of arms carried by the leader and his aides.

UP Chief Electoral Officer AK Bishnoi said,“DM is empowered to act on such matters. A case has to be registered against the accused.”

The Etah DM said,“Action will definitely be taken against him for violating the code of conduct.” A probe has been ordered after which the charges against the boy may be dropped.
