To prevent people from getting stuck in traffic snarls,a 104-km-long ring road will be constructed around the industrial city. The Ministry of Road,Transport and Highways has appointed a company which will present its report and initial designs, said Union Coal Minister and Kanpur MP Sriprakash Jaiswal. Talks are on between the local administration,national highway authority,Kanpur Development Authority and state Public Works department,he added. Five long bridges,17 small bridges,three flyovers,six railway overbridges,15 underpasses for vehicles and 14 underpasses for people will be constructed on the ring road.
