1 killed in BSP,SP clash

One person was killed and four others were critically injured when supporters of Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party clashed in Bilhaur area of Kanpur

One person was killed and four others were critically injured on Tuesday night when supporters of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Samajwadi Party (SP) clashed in Bilhaur area of Kanpur.

Kanpur DIG Rajesh Kumar Rai said Meghnad,a dalit,and his brother Ram Sewak who were accompanied by two others had entered into a heated argument with Rajju and his friends Manoj,Lal Singh and Surendra outside a liquor outlet at Nanamau on Tuesday night. While Meghnad and his associates were speaking in favour of BSP,the rival group was supporting SP. The verbal duel turned violent as both the groups attacked each other with knives and sticks. Meghnad was allegedly stabbed by Rajju and his friends,while the assailants too suffered injuries in the attack by the rival group. Meghnad was immediately rushed to the hospital where succumbed. The DIG added that one of the accused Manoj was arrested.
