AMID reports that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has expanded its probe into the railway bribery case dating back to 2009 when Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was at the helm of the affairs of the ministry,Trinamool Congress on Tuesday said that all appointments at the senior positions in the Indian Railways during her tenure and subsequent ministers Dinesh Trivedi and Mukul Roy from the party were in accordance with existing principles of good governance.
As Railway Minister from 2009-11,Mamata Banerjee set the bar high. The benchmarks of integrity and transparency that have defined her public career for the past three decades will stand the scrutiny of CBI or anybody else, Trinamool MP and chief whip of the party in the Rajya Sabha Derek OBrien said in a statement.
The party had till now maintained silence in the whole episode.
