Three people died when a matador rammed into a stack of bricks on the National Highway-6 around 4 am on Saturday. Pranab Maity (30),Ashish Bhuniya (32) and Nabakumar Adak (65),all vegetable vendors,were heading for a wholesale market in Barasat from Bhagabanpur in East Midnapore.
The police said the speeding matador hit a pile of bricks stacked along the road in Monoshatala area under the Uluberia police station. While the three died on the spot,Nabakumars son Chandan and the driver of the vehicle,Haradhan Das,sustained serious injuries.
