SIR draft roll West Bengal: When will West Bengal draft electoral roll be published

The draft electoral roll for West Bengal will be published on Tuesday (December 16). When the EC first announced a nationwide SIR on the heels of the Bihar SIR, the draft rolls were to be published by December 9. After a nudge from the Supreme Court, the poll body gave a one-week extension.

Earlier this month, the EC extended the SIR timeline in five states and one Union Territory. But West Bengal is not one of them.

SIR draft list: How to check if your name is on Draft Electoral Roll?

There are a few ways of checking your name in the draft electoral roll.

Offline: If you prefer to do this offline, there are two ways you can check the Electoral Roll

1. Reach out to your Booth Level Officer (BLO). Nearly 24 hours before the publication, the draft rolls had reached the BLOs who could view it on a dedicated application, PTI reported. They are allowed to view booth-wise data to facilitate preliminary verification.
2. The second option is to visit the block development office. The draft list will go live on Tuesday noon (December 16) for public access both online and offline.

Online: If you want to check the data from the comfort of your phone, you can visit a few online sites..

1. From the E-NET App on your mobile
2. By visiting the website: voters.eci.gov.in.
3. Accessing the CEO West Bengal and DEO and District websites

The draft rolls will show tabulated entries, including those submitted through enumeration forms. It will also showcase the names of deceased persons, missing voters and duplicate entries.

The Election Commission is also going to hold hearings if any discrepancies are found, as part of the verification process.

SIR draft roll West Bengal 2026: What’s in West Bengal draft SIR list

There were a total of 7.66 crore electors as on October 27. This has come down to 7.08 crore in the draft electoral rolls. This means nearly 58 lakh names have been removed.

Poll body officials said that the data released includes a list of electors who did not return the enumeration forms. Their names appear in the list of ASD, namely absent, shifted, dead/duplicate electors.

It needs to be noted that these names have not been deleted. Respective election registration officers of respective constituencies will take a call on these names before the final list is published in February next year (2026).
