Morcha links poll result to statehood
Morcha president Bimal Gurung told a meeting of Yuva Morcha members at Kumani on the border of Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling district that he would do door-to-door campaigning for the panchayat polls.
The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha,which has begun campaigning for the panchayat polls in the Doars region,on Tuesday said a good show by the party in the election would help it in pushing its separate statehood demand as well as inclusion of more mouzas of the Terai-Doar belt into the Gorkha Territorial Administration (GTA).
Morcha leader and an executive member of the GTA,Samuel Gurung,said: It is important to win the panchayat elections both for the Gorkhaland demand and also for the inclusion of mouzas in the GTA.

Taking a dig at 200 Morcha workers joining the Trinamool over the past few weeks,Gurung said: Have they joined with the hope that the cases registered against them during the Gorkhaland agitation will be withdrawn?
