‘Medical negligence’ sparks protest

Relatives of a patient,who died at a nursing home in Kolkata’s Bagbazar area,created a ruckus alleging medical negligence by the hospital staff on Sunday. They said Nimai Mondal was admitted to Sanjibani Nursing Home as she was suffering from neurological disorder. On Sunday,the hospital authorities declared her brain-dead. But after a while it was found that the patient was alive and she was responding to treatment. Later,she died. Irate relatives blocked the road outside the hospital and broke hospital furniture. No police complaint has been lodged.
