Md Sporting appoints Ayodegy

Mohammedan Sporting on Tuesday appointed Sujatope Ayodegy as their coach for the ongoing season replacing Sayeed Nayeemuddin.

Mohammedan Sporting on Tuesday appointed Sujatope Ayodegy as their coach for the ongoing season replacing Sayeed Nayeemuddin. The team under Nayeem has failed to get going in the Calcutta Football League and couldn’t qualify for the Federation Cup main round. Ayodegy is a ‘B’ licence holder who has coached in Mumbai. “I have to start everything afresh,” said the Nigerian.

Nayeem,on the other hand,lashed out at the club management saying: “I have been betrayed from all quarters. I have been stabbed from behind. I’m really disappointed with the way things have folded.” He also urged the Kolkata clubs to follow the Goan model.

Vijayan parts ways with Samity

Meanwhile,former Indian football captain I M Vijayan today called time on his stint as the coach of Southern Samity. “The results have been unsatisfactory with Southern Samity. I am used to getting flak (as a player in past),” the three-time Indian Player of the Year quipped before reporters at the Calcutta Sports Journalists’ Club here. He also indicated that he might come back if a good offer came his way.
