Mamata skips UPA dinner

In another snub to the UPA government,Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee today skipped the dinner hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his residence to celebrate three years of UPA government in office.

In another snub to the UPA government,Trinamool Congress chairperson Mamata Banerjee today skipped the dinner hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at his residence to celebrate three years of UPA government in office.

The Trinamool Congress delegation has been led by railway minister Mukul Roy who went to attend the dinner after visiting the railway accident site in Andhra Pradesh. Like Mamata,DMK chief M. Karunanidhi,who is also a UPA ally,also chose to miss the dinner. “The chief minister was invited but she could not go there because of preoccupations in Kolkata,’’ Mukul Roy said. Mamata said she would be able to have a meeting with the Prime Minister when he would come to Kolkata on June 2 to attend a couple of functions.
