Mamata asks Ramesh to show patience

Jairam Ramesh said the chief minister Mamata Banerjee had told him to keep patience so far as development of the state was concerned.

Union minister for rural development Jairam Ramesh who on Wednesday concluded his 3-day visit of the three districts of South 24 Parganas,Bankura and Purulia said the chief minister Mamata Banerjee had told him to keep patience so far as development of the state was concerned. “I talked to her on a few issues and she told me to be patient. She said it was impossible to fix non-goverance of 34 years overnight,” Ramesh said at a press conference at Bidhan Bhavan,the state Congress’ headquarters. He also alleged that wanton politicisation of panchayats in West Bengal has led to poor implementation of schemes like NREGA.
