A 20-year-old woman was allegedly raped after she was invited to a birthday party in south Kolkata, police said on Sunday.
Police said the woman, who filed the complaint on Saturday, alleged that she was invited by her friend to a birthday party on Friday evening. After reaching the flat around 10.45 pm, she found that there were only two persons – her friend and someone whom he knew.
“In her complaint, the woman said that she had voluntarily gone to the flat of one of her friends. There, she said, only two men — her friend Chandan Malik and another person named Deep alias Debangsu Biswas – were present, who forcibly took her to Deep’s house and raped and assaulted her,” said a police officer.
