IIM-C’s manufacturing MBA programme creates a buzz

Post the global economic downturn,there is a growing demand of management graduates who have specialised in manufacturing sector. The students of the unique postgraduate programme for executives – visionary leadership manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) has recorded a 56 per cent jump in the salary package this year,compared to last year. While the average salary of the students of PGPEX-VLM was Rs 8 lakh in 2009-10,this year the average salary has risen to Rs 12.5 lakh. The one-of-its-kind programme in the country is conducted in collaboration with IIT-Kanpur,IIT-Chennai and IIM-Calcutta. The 26 students were registered with 335 jobs during the placement process. ITC,Voltas,TCS,Vedanta,HP,Cummins,Bharat Mcnally,Shinsei Bank and Wheels India.
