Missing youth found dead in Jamuria
Burdwan:
The body of a 25-year-old youth,who was missing polling came to an end for the fifth phase on Saturday,was fished out from a pond by the police in Churulia village in Jamuria Assembly constituency.

The body of Alauddin Shah bearing stab wounds was found with hands tied at the back and a stone weighing it down. Shah was allegedly called out of his home by the CPM cadres after they had an altercation with supporters of Trinamool Congress last evening. Trinamool candidate for Jamuria,Prabhat Chattopadhyay,said the presence of security forces in large numbers prevented any clash after the altercation. Shah was stabbed with sharp weapons by CPM workers and his body was thrown into the pond,said Chattopadhyay who claimed that the youth was a Trinamool supporter. The CPM also claimed that Shah was one of their own,but added that the killing had no political link. Jamuria was among the 38 constituencies that went to polls on Saturday.

Repolling in one booth
Kolkata:
Re polling has been ordered in one booth so far for the fifth phase of polls. “The EVM in booth number 98 of Khandoghosh Constituency in Burdwan district was showing erratic results and a re-poll has been recommended,” said an EC official.
