Factory fire death toll at 4

The death of one more person in the fire,which broke out at a chemical factory P S Enterprise in Belgachia on Tuesday,has taken the death toll in the incident to four.

The death of one more person in the fire,which broke out at a chemical factory P S Enterprise in Belgachia on Tuesday,has taken the death toll in the incident to four. Arup Kar (28),who was rescued by fire brigade personnel,succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday morning. The other two rescued persons,Dharmaraj Pandit (23) and Mohanta Mondol (55),are battling for their life at the R G Kar Medical College and Hospital. The three people who died in Tuesday’s fire are yet to be identified. “The factory had many chemicals which were stored without a valid licence,” said the director of fire and emergency services,Gopal Bhattacharya. Today a forensic team visited the site. It will submit a report within a few days. Factory owner Susanto Kundu and manager Pradeep Dutt have been remanded in judicial custody till April 22.
