Inaugurating three projects at Batanagar in South 24-Parganas district, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday announced that an elevated flyover from Jinjira Bazar to Batanagar will be constructed. “The flyover will reduce the travelling time between Jinjira Bazar to Batanagar to seven-eight minutes,” she claimed.

During her visit, the chief minister laid the foundation stones for Apollo Institution of Medical Sciences and Research, Saurav Ganguly’s school and sports academy, and Kolkata Studio. “Apollo Hospital’s medical college will start a training school for nurses along with a 1000-bed hospital. Saurav will train the youths and produce world-class players. This new generation here perhaps doesn’t realise the leap which this place has taken towards development,” she said, and added there were still some stumbling blocks in the completion of the project but her group of ministers have held several meetings in the recent past to resolve the issues.

“It is like the rising of a new sun here. We will see doctors, nurses, film stars and players being produced from here and thousands of people will get direct and indirect employment opportunity from this place,” Mamata claimed.
