During the hearing for framing of charges against the accused persons in Rizwanur death case, the 9th Fast Track Court wanted to know from the CBI why the name of Saidur Rehman,Rizwanur Rehman’s uncle, was not included in the agency’s chargesheet.

Saidur had earlier admitted before the CBI of having taken money from Todis. His name also appeared in Rizwanur’s suicide note. Amit Chattopadhyay, the judge of the fast track court, said the agency will have to justify the fact of not mentioning Saidur’s name in the chargesheet.

Amit Bhattacharya, the counsel of Anil Saraogi, today said that Saraogi had requested Ashoke Todi to arrange Priyanka’s return to Rizwanur according to the agreement at Lalbazar on September 8,2007. The court also asked the CBI why Saraogi’s name was included in the chargesheet despite his good conduct.

Tarique Quasimuddin, the counsel of S M Mohiuddin alias Pappu who was also chargesheeted by the CBI,argued that he was a Rehman family’s friend who had come forward to help Rizwanur and Priyanka after he approached by the family.

Quasimuddin said Pappu always helped Rizwanur and supported the marriage but Todis tried to dissuade him from helping Rizwanur.
