College principal run over by train

Howrah:The principal of Jhargram Raj College was run over and killed on Saturday by a speeding train at Andul station in Howrah district. Police said Amalendu Roy was killed on the spot when he was run over by a train at Andul station Saturday evening. Details of why he had been to Andul was being probes by the police,sources said.

Army jawan commits suicide

Bankura:An army jawan allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in his house at Bankura town on Saturday,police said. Amiyo Panda,36,who was posted in Haryana,had come to his native place on leave,police said. The body has been sent for post mortem.
