The Trinamool Congress and Congress alliance maintained their winning streak with victories in two muncipalities,the results of which were announced on Tuesday.

Cong-Trinamool wins two municipalities

Kolkata: The Trinamool Congress and Congress alliance maintained their winning streak with victories in two muncipalities,the results of which were announced on Tuesday. The alliance won the polls in Raiganj municipality in North Dinajpur district and the Pujali civic body in South 24-Parganas district defeating the Left Front. Both the muncipalities were under the control of the Congress,but this time both Congress and Trinamool Congress fought the elections to the two municipalities together. Polling was held on July 10. At Raiganj,the Congress won 17 of the 25 wards and Trinamool which contested in eight won in five. The CPM managed to win in one ward and Independents won in two. Of the 15 wards that went to the polls in Pujali,the Congress got 7 and the Trinamool 4. Independents won in three wards while the CPM bagged one.

Don Bosco relics in Kolkata for five days

Kolkata: The sacred relics of the saint Don Bosco,founder of the Salesian Society,will remain in Kolkata from July 15 to July 19.

The relics will be kept at Auxilium Church at Gobra,Christ the King Church at Park Circus,Don Bosco School Park Circus and Don Bosco headquarters at Tangra.
