Candidates enrolled in teacher training programmes to be allowed to appear for TET

“We will not delay in publishing the result of Part 1 of D.El.Ed, and we hope to declare results by November 15. After declaring the results of Part 1, we will conduct Part 2 of D.El.Ed in December. Those who have enrolled for D.El.Ed, and have received their registration number, will be eligible to send their application for the Teachers Eligibility Test,” Chatterjee said during a news conference at his residence.

The state education minister further said: “We will follow recruitment rules of NCTE… Only trained candidates will be allowed to sit for the TET. Those who have enrolled for such training are eligible to apply for the examination.”

Chatterjee also slammed a section of people for taking some candidates to the high court and helping them file cases against the state government over teacher recruitment.

“At a time when the state government is trying to recruit teachers for state-run schools, a section of people are trying to thwart the process. They are taking some candidates and helping them file cases against the government. Instead of doing that, they should have come to us to resolve their issues,” he said.

The state government is yet to announce a date to conduct the TET.
