Biman wants corrupt partymen ousted

The CPM state secretary,Biman Bose,has called for removing party members “who use the party for selfish ends”.

Following the LS poll debacle,the party has already identified a section of leaders,who are using the party for furthering their own business. Party sources said with the party’s state committee meeting scheduled for Saturday,Bose’s remark is significant as party leaders are trying to isolate such members before the 2011 Assembly polls to establish a clean image of the Marxists.

“We have an information that a section of our cadres is working for its personal benefits. Let us isolate them from the party,” Bose told a gathering of party members on Friday.

While he hinted that the lifestyle of some partymen is responsible for the poll defeat,he simultaneously saw a foreign hand against the party and the government. “There are similarities between the conspiracies against the Left government of Kerala in 1950s and the Bengal government today,” Bose said.
