The second NEET student who went missing from Kota on Sunday has been found in Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh near the Nepal border.
The 19-year-old student, originally a resident of Tarapur town in Munger district of Bihar, had left a note in his PG room on the night of May 12 and went away without informing anyone.
His father who is a JCO with the Indian Army and posted in West Bengal left with police to bring his son back from UP.
While talking to The Indian Express, he said, “I was shocked when I came to know that he had left his PG without informing anyone. We never mounted pressure on him for anything. We used to talk with him regularly. So, we are not able to believe the fact that he could take such a step. I talked to my son when he was found but he is constantly crying over the phone. Once I meet him, I can understand what went wrong.”
The 19-year-old was living with his younger brother who joined a few weeks back at the PG in Kota. He had appeared for the NEET UG exam on May 5 but it is said he wasn’t satisfied with his performance.
It was at around 1 am Sunday, a week after the exam, that the student departed from his room after leaving a note that said: “My exam didn’t not go well. Find me around Kota Barrage.” After the landlord informed police, a missing persons case was registered.
The police swung into action and called divers to search the Kota barrage for the body but nothing was found.
A week ago, on May 6, another 19-year-old preparing for NEET had gone missing after leaving a note that said he did not want to study further. A native of Rajasthan’s Gangapur district, he had been living in Kota to prepare for NEET.
