Gujarat to host second Energy Transition Working Group Meeting on April 2-4

Delegates from various countries including Bangladesh, China, Japan, Russia, the United States and the United Kingdom will attend the event.

Gujarat will host the second Energy Transition Working Group Meeting under the G20 from April 2 to 4 at Gandhinagar, officials said Friday, adding that Mahendra Munjpra, Union minister of state for Ayush and women and child development, would deliver a special address at the event.

“The engagement is at the level of technical experts, where the subject of energy transition and the future of fuel will be discussed. Officials from the Union ministry of power, ministry of new and renewable energy and the ministry of petroleum of natural gas will be participating in this meeting,” said Mona Khandhar, principal secretary (economic affairs).

“On the first day, the International Energy Agency will present a critical minerals market report 2023 at the event,” the official added. Fuels for the future, low-cost financing for energy transition and energy transition by addressing technology gaps and energy security will be among the subjects that will be discussed.

Delegates from various countries including Bangladesh, China, Japan, Russia, the United States and the United Kingdom will attend the event. International organisations such as Asian Development Bank, International Energy Agency, United Nations Development Programme will also participate in it.

The official said the delegates would be taken on “excursions” that will include visits to GIFT City, Modhera Sun Temple and Dandi Kutir.
