It is heartening to see the city folk turn to poetry on a summers evening. Delhi Poetree and the American Center organised an evening of poems and wine to launch A Quatrain of Misunderstood Poets,a new collection featuring the works of four young Delhi-based poets. It features the poetry of Karan Vats,Sadiqur Rahman,Jaideep S Warya and Aazar Anis, all in their early 20s. The poetry is mostly about the angst that consumes youngsters, livened up by observations of life and people around, and yes, there are the odd but compulsory love poems as well. Among the verses that stood out were Someone Elses Poetry by Warya,Shahrukh by Rahman and Vidarbha by Anis. But the show stealer of the evening was Tibetan activist and poet Tenzin Tsundue who painted images of Dharamsala and a life in exile vividly, eliciting the loudest applause of the evening.
