The Delhi Police will set up a temporary jail at an MCD school in Outer Delhi’s Old Bawana, keeping in view the law and order situation ahead of the inauguration of the new Parliament building today.

In an order issued by Additional DCP (Outer North) Rajeev Kumar Ambasta, it has been learnt that khap panchayats of various states, supporting wrestlers protesting at Jantar Mantar, have announced a call for a mahila maha panchayat at the new Parliament house building Sunday. It has been apprehended that a lot of people from the Haryana side may try to enter the capital through the Singhu border and disrupt law and order.

The order added that Delhi will be expecting a lot of VIPs, MPs, MLAs and other dignitaries on the occasion. “… adequate arrangements are required to be made in the area. Hence, Delhi Police has decided to create a temporary jail in Outer North district,” it said.
