Woman arrested in Gurgaon for fatal stabbing of live-in partner
The arrest comes just a day after another case involving a live-in relationship turned fatal in nearby Sohna.

A 27-year-old woman, Yashmeet Kaur, was arrested on Saturday for allegedly stabbing her 40-year-old live-in partner, Harish, to death during an altercation at their residence in DLF Phase-3, Gurgaon, the police said.
According to officials, the incident occurred following a dispute over Harish’s visits to his family. Harish, who was married and had two daughters, had reportedly been living with Kaur in a rented home for the past one-and-a-half years due to his wife’s illness.
A police spokesperson said officers from the DLF Phase-3 police station were dispatched after a local hospital reported receiving a grievously injured person. Harish, a resident of Baliyawas village in the district, was declared dead upon arrival. Crime scene investigation teams recovered a knife and a blood-stained T-shirt from the scene in Sector 72.
A complaint was filed by Harish’s nephew, who also worked with him. He told police that on August 1, a man named Vijay, also known as Sethi, came to their home to meet Harish, who requested Rs 7 lakh, which the family provided. Later that night, Harish called to request Rs 1,650 for food, which was sent via phone payment.
The following day, Kaur informed the nephew of Harish’s death. He subsequently filed a complaint suspecting foul play by both Kaur and Vijay, leading to the registration of a case at the DLF Phase-3 police station.
“On August 2, a heated altercation led Yashmeet to stab Harish in the chest, resulting in his death,” the police spokesperson said. “The accused has been arrested and will soon be produced in court for further proceedings. The investigation is under way.”
The arrest comes just a day after another case involving a live-in relationship turned fatal in nearby Sohna. Haryana police on Friday arrested a 29-year-old constable, Ravindra, for allegedly strangling his sister-in-law, Sangeeta, 24, who was also his live-in partner.
According to police, the incident occurred in a flat at the HCBS Sports Ville Society and allegedly stemmed from a dispute over Sangeeta’s interactions with other individuals. Sangeeta was the wife of Ravindra’s wife’s brother.
