VJCA,ERA win in DVR Cup

Delhi player Shawej Khan came up with a spectacular performance,scoring a half-century and picking three wickets,but his efforts went in vain as Quetta DAV went down fighting to Vidhya Jain Cricket Academy in the inaugural match of the DVR T20 Cricket Cup at St Stephens College ground.

The tournament,managed by former Delhi under-19 skipper Divyang Chopra,will witness Delhi’s top twelve teams including ONGC,FCI and Madras Cricket Club,taking part in this T20 venture,played with white ball and carrying a prizemoney of Rs 1 lakh for the winner and Rs 50,000 for the losing finalists.

In the day’s second match,left-arm spinner Vision Panchal bagged four wickets for 9 runs as Era Group demolished Sumeet Dogra Academy for just 77. Delhi opener Farman Ahmed made a breezy 38 to help his side register an easy eight-wicket win .

Badminton tourney

The 22nd Pt Tirath Ram Memorial badminton tournament is starting today at Shaheed Bishen Singh Memorial Senior Secondary School,F-213A Mansrover Garden (Opposite Water Tank) ,New Delhi. In all 425 players from all over Delhi are participating in the tournament in all age groups.
