The Nuh administration has formally denied permission for the VHP’s Braj Mandal Yatra which was planned to be held on August 28.

According to a police official, DC Nuh, Dhirendra Khadgata, denied permission for the yatra sought by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad. “The DC said that the yatra will not be given permission citing reasons like the upcoming G20 meeting to be held in Tauru from September 3. As the date of the yatra coincided with that of the G20 meeting, it was not given a nod. Concerns around the existing situation in Nuh were also cited while denying permission,” the official said.

Last week, the DC had told The Indian Express that it was unlikely that the yatra would be given permission since the district was yet to regain normalcy.

“We have come to know that the administration rejected permission, but members of the organisation have said that they will go ahead with the yatra even without the administration’s nod,” said Narayan, a Panipat Bajrang Dal member.

VHP national spokesperson Vinod Bansal said that they are still expecting the administration to give permission for the yatra. Bansal added that the administration ought to extend support instead of creating hindrances.
