Two persons,including an Afghan national,out of jail on bail,were arrested in the Capital for allegedly possessing three kg of heroin which cost Rs 3 crore in the international market. Asmile (53),the Afghan,and Apui (24),a woman from Mizoram,were caught by Delhi Polices Special Cell on June 3 from East of Kailash after receiving a tip off,the police said. The trail of the seized heroin starts from Afghanistan and reached the country through Pakistan,he said. Asmile was earlier arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in 2000 with 4 kg of heroin. He was sentenced to 10 years rigorous imprisonement and a fine of Rs one lakh. He was released on bail in February and came in contact with one Vincent,a Nigerian national,and started working together. Asmile used to receive the contraband from Vincent.
Apui is a graduate and works as a therapist in a hotel in Connaught Place.
