In May this year, Milan Luthria finalised an untitled film with Arjun Kapoor. Its shoot was to begin by end of 2014 and it was said to be a romance-thriller. But now it is being said that the director of The Dirty Picture has decided to shelve the project. The reason for it, say those close to the project, is the script’s similarities with Fan, featuring Shah Rukh Khan (in picture) and directed by Maneesh Sharma. Fan is said to be the story of a filmstar who finds his biggest fan in a look-alike and decides to swap places with him. In Luthria’s film, however, Kapoor and his lady love are an affluent couple who find commoners to take their place in social and professional lives so they can rediscover themselves and one another.
Khan will begin shooting for Fan, which is currently in pre-production, in the next few weeks. He recently underwent a 3D scanning session in the US that will help the film’s special effects team to work on his double role.
