Idea Exchange provides students with an opportunity to interact with power influencers and thought leaders, besides our journalists. This weeks guest,Shanta Kumar,is a former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
Seema Upadhyay (teacher,Cambridge School,Indirapuram):If you were the Prime Minister tomorrow, and if most of your leaders were accused of corruption and wrongdoing, what would you do?
Whatever has to be done as per law would be done. The rule of law should be the same for everyone, irrespective of party lines. I have never sided with corruption and I feel it is the countrys biggest enemy. Corruption is what leads to poverty for some and riches for others. There should be zero tolerance for corruption
Sharmishta Shastri (student,Cambridge School,Indirapuram):
If the elections are held tomorrow for some reason or the other, who s likely to be the Bharatiya Janata Partys prime ministerial candidate?
We do not decide before hand. Once the elections happen, the elected members decide who should be the chief minister.
Similarly,MPs will decide who will be the prime minister. But there is some talk of pre-deciding our candidates. So we may decide closer to the elections.
