Talwars submit their statements

Rajesh and Nupur Talwar on Friday submitted written statements to a Ghaziabad Sessions court,rejecting the allegations levelled against them by the prosecution.

Rajesh and Nupur Talwar on Friday submitted written statements to a Ghaziabad Sessions court,rejecting the allegations levelled against them by the prosecution.

Submission of written statements by the accused are part of court procedure at the end of the recording of statements of the accused,under Section 313 of the CrPC,which ended on Thursday. Rajesh and Nupur Talwar are standing trial for the murder of their daughter Aarushi and domestic aide Hemraj on the intervening night of May 15 and 16,2008.

While submitting the statements,the defence counsel also asked for documents,such as forensic test results and call detail records of Krishna,Rajkumar and Vijay Mandal,who were previously accused in the case,but were let off due to lack of evidence. The court has now set June 4 as next hearing date.
