Swan Song

Set to Tchaikovsky’s haunting tunes,Swan Lake,one of the most popular ballets in the world,was presented by the New Delhi-based India Fernando Ballet Company to a packed audience at Kamani auditorium on Wednesday.

Set to Tchaikovsky’s haunting tunes,Swan Lake,one of the most popular ballets in the world,was presented by the New Delhi-based India Fernando Ballet Company to a packed audience at Kamani auditorium on Wednesday. The story played out in four acts and involved 40 dancers. Fernando Aguilera,who directed the ballet,says,“The story of the white swam called Odette and the black swan called Odil,and their triangular romance with Prince Siegfried unfolds amid spells and sorcery,beguiling generations of viewers across borders.” He played Siegfried while dancer Ritika Chandra played Oddette and the seductress Odile was played by Asawari Sodhi.
