After his spectacular performance in Taare Zameen Par,child actor Darsheel Safary is now ready to save the world. In his latest avatar as a child superhero in Walt Disney’s first live-action film,Zokkomon, which is scheduled to release in May this year,Safary plays an ordinary child, who has some extraordinary powers that are an inspiration for those around him. “Every kid dreams of being a superhero and I was no different. My favourite comics were Batman and Superman,” he rues with rehearsed precision,as he entertains questions about his role in the film at the Taj Mahal Hotel along with recipients of this year’s Bravery Awards. “I liked Hrithik Roshan in Kkrish also,” he chirps.

The film which is the debut film for director Satyajit Bhatkal, also stars Manjari Fandnis and Anupam Kher. “It is about overcoming personal doubts and having the courage to face up to life’s challenges,” informs Bhatkal, who earlier directed a feature length documentary for Aamir Khan called Chale Chalo in 2004.
