Student stabbed by teens outside school

A 16-year-old student of Salwan Public School was allegedly stabbed by his classmate and a few seniors outside the school gate on Friday around 2 pm.

A 16-year-old student of Salwan Public School was allegedly stabbed by his classmate and a few seniors outside the school gate on Friday around 2 pm.

According to sources,Gautam,a student of Class XI,was leaving school after the classes were finished when a few teenagers,who had been waiting outside the school gate,got into an argument with him. In the course of the argument,the teenagers stabbed Gautam with a sharp object several times,sources added.

Gautam received injuries on his shoulders and left side of his chest. He was rushed to the Lifeline Hospital and a minor surgery was performed on him,the police said.

“He is in the Intensive Care Unit but is doing fine,” said Anil Kumar,administrator at the hospital.

“We have recorded his (Gautam’s) statement and have identified other teenagers. One of them is his classmate while others are pass-outs from the same school. No arrests have been made so far and we have registered a case of attempt to murder against the accused,” Commissioner of Police (Gurgaon) S S Deswal said.

The police are still trying to ascertain the weapon with which Gautam was stabbed. “He was not stabbed by a knife,It was a broken bottle,” Deswal said.

The hospital authorities,meanwhile,said earlier Gautam said the attackers used a broken bottle,but later he changed his statement and said he was stabbed with a knife.

The school authorities could not be reached despite repeated attempts.
