As a result, the affected areas will experience a disruption in water supply on both September 18 evening and the morning of September 19. (File photo)Residents of several South Delhi localities are set to face a 12-hour water supply cut from 10 am on Wednesday due to planned maintenance work, the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) said.
The water supply interruption will affect Green Park, Safdarjung Enclave, SDA, Hauz Khas, Munirka, Kishangarh, Masjid Moth, parts of Mehrauli, IIT, INA, AIIMS, Safdarjung Hospital, and adjoining areas of Deer Park UGR.
The disruption is due to “the installation of a 500-mm diameter flowmeter” at the Deer Park BPS outlet supplying water to DDA flats in Munirka, the DJB said. This maintenance work will require the temporary shutdown of a 600-mm outlet line of the Deer Park BPS from 10 am to 10 pm on September 18.
“Water supply from 600 mm outlet line of Deer Park BPS will be stopped from 10 am on 18.09.2024 to 10 pm for 12 hours,” the DJB said in its statement.
As a result, the affected areas will experience a disruption in water supply on both September 18 evening and the morning of September 19.
The water board has provided an emergency helpline number (9650291442) for assistance. Those requiring tanker services can call 1916, the DJB said.
