Murder In daryaganj : The guard was hired a fortnight ago,who then persuaded the 72-yr-old to employ the domestic help
A 72-Year-old man was found murdered and his house robbed,allegedly by his domestic help and a local security guard,in the Walled City on Saturday morning.
The police said Dev Sen Jain,who set up tents for IPL matches in Delhi,was alone at the time of the incident. His wife,Vimlesh Jain,is in Indore to attend a wedding.
Jain reportedly ran the tent shop from the ground floor of his three-storeyed residence near the Telephone Exchange in Delhi Gate area.The police said Jain was found dead by his staff Vijay in the morning.
Vijay arrived at the shop around 7.30 am and sent his six-year-old son up to Jains room to fetch the shops keys. After the boy raised an alarm,Vijay rushed to Jains room. He found him in a pool of blood in the living room; his hands and legs were tied. Vijay then called the police, Jains neighbour Amreek Singh said.
According to the police,Jain was hit on the head with a blunt object.
The house had been ransacked,the police said,and though an assessment is yet to be made,police believe items worth lakhs have been stolen.
A Nepali guard,who manned the street outside Jains house,and the familys domestic help are absconding after the incident,the police said. They were identified as Kishan Bahadur and Ashish.
Sources said Bahadur was employed about 20 days ago and at Bahadurs instance Jain had hired Ashish as his domestic help.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Jaspal Singh said,The guard was not verified with the police. We have registered a case and further investigations are on. A manhunt has been launched for the duos arrest.
Jain has three sons; they stay separately in different parts of Delhi.
