With the monsoon season winding down, authorities in Gurgaon are stepping up efforts to repair and strengthen the city’s rain-ravaged roads.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ajay Kumar, speaking at a review meeting chaired by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini via video conferencing on Saturday, said all roads damaged during monsoon will be repaired by the end of October.

The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is focusing on multiple road projects, a spokesperson said.

Repairs are underway on the Sector 92/95 dividing road to ease traffic flow, while the Sector 102/102A master dividing road is being fixed to improve connectivity. Pothole repairs and bituminous resurfacing are ongoing in Ashok Vihar near Sector 5 and along the Sector 99/102 master road, officials said.

According to officials, cement concrete work is in progress on Bus Stand Road to handle heavy traffic, while the Sector 65/66 service road has been repaired to address potholes.

“As the weather conditions have improved, repair work has been accelerated since earlier this week. Earlier, granular sub-base filling was being carried out, but now bituminous and cement concrete works are being taken up as weather conditions are dry,” the spokesperson added. DC Kumar said the PWD has allocated Rs 17 crore to repair 29 roads.
