Return of Rebels

Remix followed the life of four main characters — Tia Ahuja (a fashion entrepreneur’s only daughter),Anvesha Ray Banerjee (a Bollywood filmstar’s only daughter),Yuvraaj Dev (the brat son of an Indian politician),and Ranveer Sisodia (a Rajasthani royal who comes to Maurya to avenge the death of his father). They seem to have their priorities worked out and prefer to follow their own path towards fulfilling their ambitions. Circumstances force them to come together and,through a series of dramatic twists and turns,the four form a music group called Remix and become the singing sensation of the decade. “When we launched the show,we upset a few people. We voiced the concerns of young India which was ignored till then,” says Ray Shukla.

According to her,the youth today have no qualms about being vocal. “In fact,they are waiting to be heard. So it is high time we start talking,” she says. Arya,who has been keen on reviving the concept,also believes it is a good time because,in the last decade,a lot has changed. “A whole new social networking generation has now emerged. The insecurities and competition have increased,” she says.

Ray Shukla also has a variety of subjects she wants to focus on if she writes the show’s second season. “There is a lot to focus on quarter-life crisis,unorthodox career choices,friends with benefits,peer pressures in social bearing,lack of real friendships,the Me-Me-Me generation,same sex relationships,loneliness,and addictions,” she says.
