Laal Aasman,with its 11 tracks on love,loss and longing,could be yet another Hindi album to hit the shelves next month. Except,that it is a part of a project that seeks to bring together the French gypsy influences of well-known French musician Thierry

“Titi” Robin with Indian names like Aparan Panshikar from Pune,Imran Ahmed Khan from Delhi and Mahalaxmi Iyer,who has sung a number of Bollywood songs.

For the past one year,Robin has been collaborating with artists from India,Turkey and Morocco in a project called The Banks,and Laal Aasman represents the Indian sound. “I chose these three places because they are very symbolic to me,with each of them being rich in arts and culture. I’m influenced by Hindustani classical music,Flamenco,Egyptian music,I create world music,” says Robin,who plays the guitar,oud and bouzouki.

Co-produced by blueFROG from India and Naïve,from France,Laal Aasman will be released in India next month and worldwide,at the end of the year. Robin will be touring India from July 5 to July 12 to promote the album.
