Rectify inflated bills: Sheila

Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit on Monday asked Power Minister Haroon Yusuf to examine and remedy complaints of inflated electricity bills in the Capital. Following a discussion in the Delhi cabinet,Dikshit said it was unfair to overcharge people. “I have directed the power minister to look into the issue and discuss it with the discoms. If people are receiving inflated bills,then the discoms will have rectify their billing system,” Dikshit said.

In June,the Delhi government had hiked power tariff by 26 per cent. When asked,Power Minister Haroon Yusuf said he would look into the issue. “We are discussing it with the discoms. If discrepancies are found,the excess amount will be deducted from the next bill,” Yusuf said.
