Trust Aamir Khan to offer something that you may have never seen before. The star played host at Avantika and Imran Khan’s wedding reception at the Taj Lands End on Saturday evening and the guest list was a clear indicator that everyone to have ever crossed the path with the Khans — actors,stars,industry folk,cricketers,politicians and industrialists — got invited. The evening saw some rare moments as distinguished personalities beyond the realm of movies were also in attendance. Sachin Tendulkar came with his wife Anjali and Yuvraj Singh. Adi Godrej was seen dotingly carrying wife Parmeshwar’s clutch. Nita and Mukesh Ambani posed with Aamir for the shutterbugs. The industry’s veterans turned up in as many numbers as the current crop. Dharmendra,Saira Bano and Dilip Kumar,Asha Parekh and Dev Anand were heartily welcomed and Aamir personally received Shammi Kapoor who arrived on a wheelchair. In another unusual moment,Vinod Khanna was seen with wife Kavita and son Sakshi. Sarika and younger daughter Akshara made a pretty picture together. Randhir Kapoor turned up with daughter Kareena,and his brother Rishi walked in with son Ranbir. Govinda,carrying the biggest possible bouquet of red roses,came with wife Sunita and daughter Narmada in tow. The highlight of the evening was when the film industry’s top troika — Aamir,Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar — came together for a picture. This is before Shah Rukh Khan arrived with Gauri.
