Rajpath closed for traffic from 6 pm today

"Only labelled vehicles of the invitees and vehicles of bonafide residents of these areas shall be permitted"

The Delhi Traffic police have made elaborate arrangements for the Republic Day parade, with certain areas being restricted for vehicles from 9.50 am on January 26.

The restricted areas include Kautilya Marg, Kamal Ataturk Marg, Aurangzeb Road ‘Q’ point, Humayun Road, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Mathura Road, Bhagwan Das Road, Feroze Shah Road, Windsor Place round about, Ashoka Road, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent and Sardar Patel Marg.

“Only labelled vehicles of the invitees and vehicles of bonafide residents of these areas shall be permitted to enter from 6 am till the conclusion of the parade around 12.30 pm. Invitees are requested to follow the routes and instructions printed on backside of the label to reach the parking lots. For the guidance of visitors, directional boards for seating enclosures have also been erected at various locations,” a police officer said.

According to the advisory, no vehicle will be allowed to ply on Rajpath after 6 pm on January 25. No traffic will be allowed on Tilak Marg, B S Z Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg up to Red Fort after 4 am on January 26. TSRs and taxis will not be allowed to enter or ply in the restricted areas after 6 am.
