Raj Randhawa dominates opening day

Delhi-based Raj Randhawa carded a remarkable five under 67 to set the pace on the opening day of the PGTI Players Championship being played at the Classic Golf Resort in Mewat,Haryana.

Delhi-based Raj Randhawa carded a remarkable five under 67 to set the pace on the opening day of the PGTI Players Championship being played at the Classic Golf Resort in Mewat,Haryana.

The 23-year-old Randhawa was the clubhouse leader as round one could not be completed on Tuesday due to a heavy downpour. Vijay Kumar who shot 68 and Jyoti Randhawa who shot 69 were in second and third place. Raj Randhawa sank eight birdies against three bogeys to come up with the best score of his professional career so far.

He converted a 40 feet birdie putt on the 11th and holed it from 30 feet for birdie on the 12th. Randhawa also sank four birdie putts from a range of 15 feet or more. He also Raj enjoyed an unbelievable run of five consecutive birdies from the 11th through the 15th.
