The Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) on Friday launched its mobile application to help people file complaints against polluting construction work, garbage burning and broken roads in New Delhi and NCR. The ‘Hawa Badlo’ app will allow people to click photos of a site and upload it. The app will then forward the complaint to the department concerned for further action. An update on the action taken will have to be filed on the app within 15 days of the receipt of the compliant.

The app, which can be downloaded on the iOS and Android app stores, is a part of EPCA’s efforts to comply with the Supreme Court’s order — passed in December last year — that asked executive agencies to take action against sources of pollution.
